Jobs and Day Training (JDTs):

Jobs & Day Training (JDT) Programs in Nevada support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building the skill they need for greater independence, employment, and community inclusion. Participants receive individualized instruction in areas such as job readiness, social interaction, and daily living, along with opportunities for hands-on learning and community engagement. Services may include day habilitation, pre-vocational training, supported employment, and life-enrichment activities tailored to each person’s goals. The program’s mission is to empower individuals to lead meaningful lives and contribute fully to their communities.

Supported Living Arrangements:

Residential Support Services in Nevada are individually planned and coordinated home and community-based services designed to ensure health and welfare, and to assist in the acquisition, retention, and improvement of skills necessary to support a person to successfully reside in the community. Residential support services are not a substitute for natural and informal supports provided by family, friends, or other available community resources; however, are available to supplement those support systems. Types of residential support services include: intermittent supported living arrangements, shared living arrangements (family and non-family), 24-hour supported living arrangements, and intensive 24-hour supported living arrangements.

Shared Living:

Shared Living Arrangement is an arrangement in which a shared living provider (self-employed, independent contractor in the community) and a person with an intellectual or developmental disability choose to live together and share life experiences while the person receives home and community-based support services. A shared living provider may not be an employee of the person or the person’s representative. A maximum of two (2) people with an intellectual or developmental disability may reside in one (1) shared living arrangement.
